The challenge

Give six episodes of dense historical and philosophical material a form that sustains curiosity. The subjects included exile, the connection to Israel, books and hatred of Jews.

The creative direction

Two researchers in a retro archaeological setting, with an imagined machine that scans books into holograms. A three-dimensional map provides the animated framing of the series.

Making the format work

We developed six scripts that could be filmed in one day. I also performed as one of the researchers, using characters and visual storytelling to carry the material.
