I like unexpected connections. I also like knowing how an idea can be produced. Those two parts of the work belong in the same conversation.

A budget, a location, a day of filming or a very complex subject can shape the format. If we bring those realities into the thinking early, they can help us find the idea.

A conversation can be the format

For Communitreat, we needed a light, approachable way to introduce a startup’s idea around humane street-cat population control. A humorous, podcast-style conversation gave us a simple production setup and a natural way into the explanation.

In another project, a story might need a fictional world, visual effects or a series of episodes. The choice starts with the value we need to communicate, the person we want to reach, and the resources available.

That is the kind of thinking I enjoy: finding a form that feels unexpected and still holds together when somebody has to make it.
